Leaving the Bay just before sunset (OR: My mother, always the pragmatist)
"Look at the sky! God, it's beautiful out." "I love it here."
"Look at the seagulls! So bright white against the setting sun!"
"Pooping. Pooping all over our pier."

A new president. A real change. Instead of going on and on in some hyped-up, emotional manner about how happy I am following the results of last night's election - unnecessary when so many others are doing so much more eloquently than I ever could - I'd thought I'd post some pictures of Nora, who was in a great mood this morning. We all were. And one brief note: I'll be taking a small vacation from the blog for about a week and a half. We're headed down to spend time with my family and friends and I figured I'd shelf the computer for a while, especially now that there's no need to check the latest political polls every other second.
