“Write it!” That’s what my dad always said. If I was telling him a story about his grandchildren, or a for-some-reason funny trip to the grocery store or my feelings about the latest political debacle in our country. He encouraged me to write it all. Sometimes I did, sometimes I told him he was being ridiculous, but, overall, it’s my guiding philosophy. Write it: the memorable events and the ordinary, forgettable moments. I like to commit them to the page as a way of processing my feelings, making sense of the world and - perhaps most importantly - connecting with others. And I love helping others do the same.
